The Freeze Ray is, in effect, a high powered water gun. It fires highly pressurized and directed liquid nitrogen streams. The high speed that the nitrogen is expelled allows it to reach the target before dissipating.
The Freeze Ray requires the Rare Tech Weapons Skill to use, which usually restricts it to level 4 survivors that maximized their tech weapon skills.
